Hello investors! Welcome to another edition of Money While You Sleep. The weather has been absolutely beautiful and we continue to soak it all up while we can. At the same time the company I work for went into another crazy shutdown season at multiple Oil, Gas and Chemical plants. Before i get into the portfolio here’s a few things we have been up to:
- My brother purchased his very first home.
- Celebrated multiple birthdays including our cousin Nico and our friend Joanna.
- Some beach fun
Portfolio details:
Like July there was not much action in the portfolio, really just letting the portfolio collect cash from dividends and DRIP the others away. Just working on creating additional cash before deploying.

2016 – 2022 Dividends
Dividends received were $351.98. This is a year over year increase of 73.5%. We had set out our annual goal of $5,000 for 2022, based on new funds and the amount of increases so far in 2022 we should have no issue achieving this! Chart below shows YTD dividends. Currently 66% to $5,000 with 4 months to go.

Market
In August we the markets come back to reality with so much uncertainty out there I don’t think we will be seeing stocks go back to all-time highs anytime soon. The reality is interest rates are affecting those that carry debt as well as making many reconsider new purchases (homes, cars etc…) and inflation is taking money out of our pockets. This will more than likely affect the markets for quite sometime, in the meantime I believe this is a good time to add to the portfolio especially if you don’t require the investments for several years down the road.
Slowly adding additional fund and getting ready for my next purchase.
