Hello investors! Welcome to another edition of Money While You Sleep. June was a record setting month for me and I’ll get to that shortly.
Before I get into the portfolio here are a few things we have been up to:
- Z performed a guitar solo to end the season.
- Had a date night that included a round of golf and Top Gun Maverick, a must watch!
- Celebrated C’s 6th birthday.
- Went on a family trip to Mable Lake BC.
- Zoey finished up another year end dance show.
- Celebrated fathers day with some pretty important dads in our life.
Portfolio details:
As the markets continue to be confused on where they should go, we have focused on slowly adding more cash and let the DRIP’s do their thing! Meaning not much action took place in June.
Here’s a breakdown of allocation:
June breakdown 81.4% Blue Chip, 16.5% Growth and 2.1% Cash
May breakdown 79.6% Blue Chip, 18.4% Growth and 2% Cash
April breakdown 73% Blue Chip, 21.8% Growth and 5.2% Cash

2016 – 2022 Dividends
Dividends received were $569.95. This is a year over year increase of 63%. Our best single month number ever! We had set out our annual goal of $5,000 for 2022, based on new funds and the amount of increases so far in 2022 we should have no issue achieving this! Chart below shows YTD dividends. Currently 49% to $5,000.

Market
This is my opinion on current market conditions as I like to keep it as simple as possible. The markets will start going up when the average person has funds to invest in the markets. With interest rates where they’re today it will take some time for the average person to get their finances in order. While the stock market has been consistently making newer lows this is a great time to buy up what you have been researching and adding to your watch lists. After 2020 my mental game has prepared me for this type of market and I have a long-term outlook before we rely on this income.
Slowly adding additional fund and getting ready for my next purchase.
